It’s time to polish up that LinkedIn page
Even if LinkedIn isn’t your most commonly used social media platform, it’s important to make sure that content is current and compelling.
Linkedin currently has 950 million members in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide, but that doesn’t mean you need to be on the platform. But, if your company has a page, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not periodicaly reviewing the profile and updating as necessary.
- Check that all your company details are accurate, including the name, logo, cover image and description and that they fit your current branding.
- Make sure the ‘About Us’ section is up-to-date and concise.
- Share impact stories to demonstrate how your organization achieves its mission.
- Grow your followers by inviting your personal connections to follow your page.
As you’re making changes to your LinkedIn page, you might notice a decrease in followers as LinkedIn is updating the total follower counts on pages to remove inactive accounts. These inactive accounts include restricted and hiberated accounts. According to LinkedIn’s Help Center, “Restricted Accounts are member accounts that have been removed for violating the Professional Community Policies or the User Agreement. This is part of LinkedIn’s efforts to create a safe, transparent experience on the platform. Learn more about restricted or hibernated accounts here.
Maybe radio isn’t dead?
The audience of digital audio is large and engaged, but traditional radio still has an opportunity to reach listeners. Over 80% of the U.S. adult population still listens to terrestrial radio at least once per month according to a recent trend report from Insider Intelligence. Terrestrial radio refers to the traditional radio broadcasting system, where stations transmit radio signals over the airwaves and listeners tune in via radios in their cars, homes, or other devices. Despite the growth of digital audio platforms, terrestrial radio remains a significant medium for reaching a broad and diverse audience.
Insights from the 2023 Fundraising.AI Virtual Global Summit
This October, Fundraising.AI hosted the largest virtual gathering of nonprofit and for-profit professionals and organizations to explore the role of Responsible AI in fundraising. Fundraising.AI is a member-driven initiative for those working within fundraising to learn about responsible AI, support best practices and build a thriving charitable giving sector.
One key takeaway from the Summit is the importance of nonprofits actively participating in establishing AI norms within our sector. Other takeaways included remembering that AI can be about enhancing efficiency and doing more with less. It can be an opportunity to automate repetitive tasks, reducing workloads. While it’s essential to take a measured approach when working with AI, it’s important to not treat it as a passing trend.
